AWS Delivery Models
Modern
This is what we are currently delivering in all regions, except India. The modern delivery model will replace the legacy delivery model.
Modern - How does it work?
- Crayon creates and configures one or more Management Account(s) per customer.
- The customer manages the Management Account(s) though IAM.
Modern - Illustrations
We deliver a dedicated Management Account for the customer, with an IAM user.
Modern Delivery Model: Base Setup
The customer uses the IAM-user to create new or invite existing Workload Accounts to the Organization.
Modern Delivery Model: Usage
Legacy
This delivery model is being phased out. We are no longer delivering new accounts on this model, and slowly offboarding the accounts we have to the modern delivery model.
Legacy - How does it work?
- Crayon owns and manages several Management Accounts.
- When a customer orders an AWS account, we create a Workload Account in the Organization of one of these Management Accounts.
- We give access to this Workload Account via an IAM-user with AdministratorAccess.
Legacy - Illustrations
This is the setup:
-
Management Account.
-
Billing-integration with CloudIQ.
-

-

Legacy Delivery Model: Base Setup
Once we got an order for a new or an existing account, we delivered it using our Operations IAM-user.
